Trying to fit a set of 1.5 roller tip rockers to my brother's car, but the standard head nuts seem to foul the rockers. Has anybody else had this? Any idea how for remedy it?

Cheers

Chris

Try nipping the nuts up so the flats line up with the rocker pedestals.

No can do, the cylinder head nuts are flanged with a built in washer. Way too wide. I found some bolts anyhow. Just a word of warning to anybody who is going to try this, you'll need new bolts for the head.

Failing that and I'm guessing the problem relates to the main head stud nuts rather than those to secure riockers to the head, use the early type nuts - again guessing but I assume you've got the flanged nuts - if you can wait a day or two and haven't got any early nuts i'll send you 4 if you mail me your address

A common problem. The APR head stud/bolt kit seems to cure this and the quality is so much better than standard as well.
Alternatively use nuts without flanges and use washers of the right diameter to aviod the rockers.

It's ok, I found a set of bolts off an A Series engine I used to have, car seems to go well. Just need to fit the Stage 1 kit at some point(once the insurance runs out) and the car will be sorted.

Tim, how'd you know we've got a woody?
