Side indicaters- legal requirement?

I'm about to finish my mini project car that i'm planning on taking to Le Mans. i've filled the hole left by the ariel, but i really want to do the same to the side indicators. Is this Legal? Does anyone else run without them, and did it pass the MOT?

Depends on the age of the car. If it was first used on or after 1 April 1986, then it needs them for the MOT. If it's older than that, then it doesn't.

Edit: so if it's the one in your profile, then it needs them as it's 1987/88 on an E plate IIRC.

Yep,

The MOT boys used to be fairly lenient on minor things like that, but since it all went electronic they seem to have clamped down on it. I failed my last MOT by having none (and no other failures GRRRRR)
