Rear sub-frame of mini van
Discussion
A mate of mine has a 1986 1275 mini, with the rover 13" wheels, wide arches etc, which he's done-up him self.
He's now thinking about doing a mini van up, but has a couple of questions:
What year did they stop making the van?
Is the rear sub frame of the van the same as the normal mini? (he has spares for normal mini's)
ALso I have a general mini question:
What is the benifit of changing the suspension cones to springs?
Thanks
Kirk

i think the vans were stopped around 1983, i've seen 'A' reg ones.
all rear subframes are the same apeart from the later ones which have different exhaust hangers.
i'm not sure there are actually any advantages in fitting coil springs, its more a matter of taste in how you want the car to handle/ride.
just stay away from the cheap coilsprings if you do decide to go for them, there are a lot of tales of these springs snapping.
