Hi folks - I have just spent a few hours delicately steaming the hideous arrowpoint side decals off of my 1980 city - to find that with a bit of age thrown in the remainder of the paint has faded a little but surprise surprise I now have perfect impressions of the decals left on the side of the car - my budget won't stretch to a new paintjob (which the odd scratch aside is in perfect order), besides I'm quite fond of applejack green - albeit with a few mods - I was planning respraying the roof in VW diamond black metallic in any event - but aside cutting the paint back which I'm not convinced would work the only thing I can think of to get rid of the "blemish" is to add some imitation britax stripes - in matching black as I can rejig the look a little to cover up the affected area whilst keeping the stylish shape - but as my original intent was for something reasonably understated anybody got any better suggestions?????

If any smart alec suggests replacing the decals - the taste police promise to hunt you down and superglue some fluffy dice into (or onto) your minis..... :~)

Give T Cut, or an alternative a try, you'd be surprised how good they can be. Autoglym do a very good paint restorer that worked wonders on a friends car that had dull/faded paint - think sandblasted and you wouldn't be far off the mark!
