Just renewed the insurance on the Mini with HIC. The cover includes:

10k miles per year
£175 Accidental damage Excess
£175 fire and theft excess
£60 windscreen excess
90 day european breakdown cover
Business use for both me and Judas
3rd party fire and theft cover for driving another vehicle
Salvage retention
£1500 cosmetic and 10bhp improvements with no extra premium
And the best bit...Non competitive track day cover!!

all for £136.50

Considering my Tesco renewal was £208, I don't think that is too bad.

Anyhoo, just waiting to see if she passes the MOT now so fingers crossed!

I'd have a good read over the small print on the old "track day cover" Ace. Many moons ago I posted on here (can't find it now) about the exact same HIC policy that includes trackdays and the general concensus was that it's about as much use as a chocolate teapot. Something along the lines of "Exclusions: driving on the track" - I jest, but just be sure that it's decent cover - would hate to see your lovely car wrecked with no chance of a payout.

Rollcage adds 35% to the premium just so I can have some chance of survival! Bastard pirates. Footman James are worth a shot also Performance Direct were the cheapest for my non-standard 66. £240 fully comprehensive for a roadgoing 1400 hillclimb car.

Who are HIC?
Looking for limited mileage cover for a slightly modified 71 Clubman. (1275, 8.4 discs, 12" Rover wheels, cage, seats, etc.)
