Hey Guys / Ladies .

Sorry if this has been asked before but my Misses is looking at a Two Year Old Mini Cooper S.
Having Spoken with John Cooper , apparantly they not only do engine conversions for 210 bhp , but they can go higher to 275 and even 300 !(both of these not BMW Approved)

Has anyone tried the 275 conversion by Cooper ? and if so how much is it ?
Also does it actually add any value come part exchange time / private sale ?

I will ring them tomorrow but just wanted food for thought tonight guys.

Also who would you guys recommend if we were to attempt a slightly higher BHP conversion ? say to 275 or even 300 ?

Is it really Possible ? but at what financial cost ?

Thanks for any advice on this subject.
Much appreciated.

With 275 or 300 bhp going through just the front wheels of a light car, i'd rather you than me.
I have driven the S Works in 210 bhp form and it is plenty for fwd.

I personally wouldn't want a fwd car that powerful - i might take mine up to c210 but no more. however one mans meat.... i'd contact BBR www.bbrgti.com/mini.php i believe trackdemon has gone up to 185 (from 163) with one of their conversions - so at least he could maybe advise on what he thought of the service etc.... bbr have been around for forever and are well regarded so maybe their 255 would be worth a look - a good bit cheaper than JCW as well (although i suspect that's less of an issue for you than it is for me...!).

The JCW upgrade is properly engineered, to BMW standards.
Most other aftermarket conversions are not.
That's why it's more expensive.

It is better. (deliberately controversial statement)
