A+ Misfire - Found it!
Discussion
Just thought I'd share a bit of personal experince. Misfires can be an absolute nightmare to find/fix, but my little monster has now eaten two distributor caps in 100K (at precise 50K intervals).
Spent saturday in lonely car park getting covered in snow to find this out!
Seems the weak point is the carbon electrode (centre one from the coil) which had just about disappered in both cases!. The car has a standard electronic Dizzy and hasn't got flame thrower spark plugs, leads or coil or any of that old bollox on it. If your post 89 Min starts farting, popping and banging... start in the dizzy cap. All sorted for less than a tenner and hopefully another trouble free 50K.

Mine is generally due to rain or damp, the mini smells rain, sees the clouds and then starts missing, good old marigold stopped that. I remember bringing my 66 back from Wales and the thing shitting itself just on the M5 south of Bris, went back to the services and bought a great can of WD40 and some rubber gloves, job done!
