Started to put the mini back together after buffing it up. Its come up nice but the roofs, gloss black and has faded in areas so it needs repainting!!

I have 2 cobra monaco bucket seats. I did want low backs but ended up with these as I can't turn down a bargain. Thing is, I've put them in the car and they're chuffing huge!! The side of the upper seat rubs against the door frame and they don't really tilt to let people in?? Is this right??

Also, if I want to put 3 point harnesses in I have to find a third anchor point. If I do this can I have rear seat passengers or is it not generally done with harnesses??

Harnesses generally mean loss of back seats because the anchor point will be where the passengers usually go.

They are really competition seats and for competition the seats have to be bolted down onto the floor and not tilt.
Putting those in any 2-door car really makes it a 2-seater. Good seats, though.

I have to make a decision really. Do I make it a two seater or do I make it for passengers. In the long run it would be better for passengers but with it being small its not that practical. Sod it - I'll make it a two seaters and convert the rear seat area into something. I know most people use it for subs and ICE but I'm not really that fussed about making myself deaf. I watch pimp my ride but don't fancy a jaccuzzi in my mini. Any ideas anyone??

Damned monaco seats - why'd they have to be £50 in as new condition (with frames!!)

I had my corbeau forza seat subframes uprated and strengthened and moved 2" closer to the centre of the car, result is they now fit very nicely past the B pillar and allow for the longer legged among us to drive without our knees wedged against the steering wheel

Sounds to me like you should come and do some rallying in it. You'd love it, especially the new F1400 Enduro class which is only for cars under 1400 cc.
Contact me for more info and the technical regulations.

Pardon me for jumping in here, but...

Hi Peter I like the sound of this. I have a trackday spec Mini which I think I would like to turn into a more rally oriented beast, with a view to entering some competitions in the future. Please would you send some info on the regs to the email address in my profile?
Thank you,
Andy
