Mini's in Southend
Discussion
Hi Peter
Was reading some of your posts the other day, glad your keeping well, bit concerned your now racing a rover which isn't a mini!
My mini has been off the road for 4 months now since driving to work one morning when it just cut out.
It did drop all power for a split second on a dual carriage way but came straight back. Turned off, navigated through a roundabout (at normal speeds) and it just cut out.
Did a couple of checks and there was no spark and no fuel being pumped. Called AA he went through all the electrics and managed with bypassing to get the fuel pump working, cant remember if it was sparking now.
Anyway Vie checked the small fuse box and all the in-lines I can find with no luck.
I'm thinking it could be the main relay which mounts on the brake servo but wanted to test it before I buy one.
My poor baby is in desperate need of some lovin right now!!!!!

You need to get it to a specialist with full diagnostic equipment. There must be one in Sarfend or thereabouts.
Good luck with it.
My Cooper 'S' will be back in action very soon. The Rover 214 Si is just to make us competitive with other modern 1.4 litre cars running to the Enduro Rally Regulations.
All the best,
Peter

Dave - I have mpi in Southend. It's not that pain in the ar$e accident cut out switch under the bonnet is it? Mine's tripped out a couple of times after going over some major bumps. Car just cuts out and won't start - there's a little black box toward the back of the engine bay on the passenger side with a little rubber covered push switch. Just push to reset - it's kinda like a circuit breaker.
Course, if you know all that don't bother reading the above!!
