Does anyone know if it is possible to fit the front disc brakes from a metro twin cam onto a 998 mini and if so what are the complications? ditto the rear drum brakes. Guy

I've never tried, but it should be possible. It just might need a bit of re-engineering. Surely someone has already done this.
Don't bother with the rear brakes. i think the drums are the same size and for all the work the rears do on a Mini they are fine as they are. Just make sure you have decent linings fitted and that the linkages are in good condition and not worn where the pins fith.

IIRC they use a different PCD from mini's and early metro's.

They do, the 100's had a PCD of 95.25 instead of 4"
