My first forage into the Classic Mini area so please be nice biggrin

I am looking to buy a Classic Mini and have seen one with a genuine Cooper Garages S Works conversion. This brings me to my questions on this upgrade:

1. Car is a 2001 model so my research suggests this should be 1275cc Fuel Injected engine and not a carb car

2. The head on the car should be blue in colour

3. Engine should now be 90 BHP, or should have been when newly converted

4. Car should have a Cooper Garages certificate with it to back up conversion

5. Any known weak spots I should look at when viewing cars

If I go through with the purchase the car will be used regularly and kept in a secure off site facility along with some other seriously nice cars I dribble over when visiting. I am based in North Essex so who would anyone recommend to look after the car for me as I intend to get it MOT'd and serviced every year? I am happy to travel to get the best servicing but within 100 miles of Colchester would be ideal.

Thanks in advance for your input thumbup

The conversion is still sold through Mini Sport at Padiham. The below link shows what you get.

The weakest spot on any mini is the condition of the body work. This is a car for sale (by a friend who has a garage), and it has had restoration work and a respray.
