Hi, I`ve just taken ownership of a white1969 Austin Mini 1000 Mk 2. The car has been in dry storage since 1982, 3 owners and 50,000 miles. The car is a perfect base for a full restoration & I`m in need of advice as to who to go to? I live on the Wirral so North West recommendations preferred but happy to hear anyone`s thoughts. I appreciate it won`t be cheap but it needs to be undertaken correctly and hopefully we get another old mini back on the road.

I'd give Paul Preston a call, he's not close to you as he's near Market Harborough but he does excellent work... I'm planning on having him do some more work on my Mk2 Cooper S soon :

As you say it won't be cheap, but with your Mk2 1000 being a rare car now it's well worth doing it properly.
