buying a renovated Mini
Discussion
Hi
I've have received a number of quotes from garages in the UK. I've managed to draw up short list of two Mini specialists. Namely, MBM Bristol and PL Minis. Now obviously, I can't ask for negative feedback to be posted online. However, please email me with which one you'd use given experience.
Thanks for your help.

I bought my 66 on PH, just keep scouring and something will come up cheap, you've got to have the bucks in your hand and be ready to pounce. Mine was/is an absolute beauty, £1500.
I'd get ofet with all the bits that go wrong and then go and put the effort in yourself. I've seen a showroom condition 67 auto (You can change that) go for £1250 recently. They do come up, you've just got to do the hard work yourself or pay someone 10x to source one for you. I would always buy from an owner, not specialist.

Bought a mint 11,000 mile 1972 Mini from its one lady owner for £1,500.
I'm sure the specialists are great, but they are crazy mad daft expensive compared to buying privately.
Spend a few months trawling ebay and going to look at any promising cars that crop up locally. Take a mate who knows what to look for and save yourself £££££.
Cheers
