I keep getting strange stirrings every time I see Cooper Ss. I'm after something fun but kinda sensible and economical to run and these wee beasties really seem to fit the bill.

A couple of questions:

I'm probably about to commit to a new house so I wouldn't mind spending less - is the Cooper any good or is it way slower than the S?

Anyone know where I can get hold of a low mileage, well-specced bargain MCS?

Cheers,

Adam

The Cooper and the One are both significantly slower and worse setup than the S

www.mini2.com perhaps for a private sale...

Woohoo - I now have a Cooper S! I'm very pleased with it and am finding it way more fun than my ZMC.

However it feels a little strangled at the moment. I've been offered a good deal on an Alta air filter - are they any good?

And does anyone know how long it takes for a dealer to fit a roof graphic?

Congrats mate

They are lovely little runabouts - compact and bijou with plenty of storage space, all mod-cons, a trendy urban feel and (if you're heading down to the coast) south-facing

Congrats on getting the car. I think they are fantastic and the wife has thoughts of a Cooper S Convertible in about a year. What I was going to mention was fuel economy. I had a standard Cooper as a coutesy car recently and that averaged around 31mpg which I'm told is about right. My neighbour has a 2.5 year old S which he says you have to be quite light footed to see the right side of 30mpg.

Are you doing lots of miles?

I do around 9k a year. However compared to the ZMC the MCS is very economical. Besides I never complain about fuel if I'm having fun! I seem to be getting around 26mpg according to the OBC though.

As the buffoon TurboShandy mentioned above though, I do get a lot of people asking me to value their houses now.

Can't wait to take it to France in a few months
