Does any one have experience of the mini spares 1.5 ratio rocker kit?
My Mk 2 near std 1275 S Engine is now run in at 2000 miles, +40 thou, lightened, balanced, std S Cam, venier timing gear, Std S cleaned up head, Single HS6 etc etc.
I was advised to buy the said 1.5 non roller rocker kit to improve mid to high end response.
When duly purchased, the kit come with a serious disclaimer about excessive valve train wear!
Is it a case of using good oil? Any advice out there?
Thanks Steve.

I've run this rocker shaft in the past with no problems. It didn't seem to give very much extra power and, of course, it will increase valve guide wear due to the fact that there is increased valve travel and the speed of the valves in the guides is also increased. I also think you lose a bit of bottom end torque with them, but that may just be a feeling I got as I never measured it. It's a bit like going up one level of cam, like from a Kent 276 to a 286. Any useable gain will only be at the top end.
Personally, unless your car is to be used in outright competition, I don't think it's worth bothering. You will gain more from having a really well-built engine and the best possible ignition, induction and exhaust systems.
