Well, I finally did it, and put a deposit down on a Caterham. Unfortunately this means that my ongoing mini project needs to be sold off to make way for the new purchase. Spec:

Cooper S discs,
1310 engine with 1" 3/4 carb, Janspeed exhaust and manifold, central oil pickup pipe, lairy cam (can't remember the spec), Timing chain to belt conversion,
Recon'd steering rack,
New Cobra Monaco seats (still in wrappers) and tilting subframes,
Hi Lo's and Spax shockers,
Shell has been fully deseamed and respryed in Jag BRG and has a fibre glass bonnet,
10" Mini Special alloys.

I think that's about it. The engine was freshly built several years ago, but never really run, the car has no MOT etc, but I don't think it will take long to get it on the road again.

So am I better of to strip it, or get it MOT'd and sell it as a whole????

at a rough guess, the car is worth 2500-3000...

the engine OTOH if built by bill richards or mr walker etc is probably worth at least a grand, again for the shell if it's mint etc etc.. let me know if you're going to break it up

Really as much as that??!?!?

The engine was built by a guy that was building and racing Miglias at the time, so it should be a good 'un.

Sounds like it might be worth making roadworthy again then which also means that I can transfer the number plate off it which is probably worth a bag of sand.
