This apparent basket case '66 Mk1 Cooper S was salved recently and is now being restored, lots of nice period touches on it...
Very late Mk2 Cooper S with some subtle mods...

Very rare 1967 Radford Cooper Mini 'Woodie', one of seven built and sold by John Cooper Garages, Steve McQueen owned one of them for a while...

George Harrison's Mk1 Cooper S being modified at the Radford works in King Street, Hammersmith in early '66... it was painted black for just over a year before it got the psychedelic treatment...
The same car almost thirty years later about to be restored...
John Lennon's Radford Cooper S in the car park at Abbey Road on 20th December 1966, which was done at the same time as George's (they were registered on the same day in February '66), rumours abound of it being stolen and written off or given away to one of his housekeepers but there is no photographic evidence of it after 1968.......

Often wondered what happened to it, only ever seen three photos of it, all with him sitting in it or standing next to it. Can't post attachments at the moment but they're easily found via google.
I sold the project Mini a couple of weeks ago and I'm on the hunt for another, hopefully a decent Mk1, Mk2 or an early Mk3.

I'm quite interested in knowing more about the black and white photo with the older chap (probably someone renowned) standing next to the car with the hoofing great big massive electric motor and heatsinks?
As for the rest of them, pure car 'pron', yes pron not porn.
I deeply regret getting rid of my 1974 '1000' back in 2006'ish to make room in the second garage for storage whilst the house extension was built.
I'm quite interested in knowing more about the black and white photo with the older chap (probably someone renowned) standing next to the car with the hoofing great big massive electric motor and heatsinks?

I suppose the thread is more than a little self indulgent but I love the 'coachbuilt' stuff from Radford, Hooper and Wood & Pickett, not to mention all (well, most!) of the personal mods that Mini owners have done to their cars over the years. My Nan used to work in the large department store directly opposite the Radford showroom in King Street, Hammersmith and she used to tell me about all the famous faces she saw going in and out to order and collect their modified Minis.
I'm on my fifteenth Mini and all of mine have been personalised to some extent, it's half the fun of Mini ownership really. I've regretted letting them all go, even the death trap '64 Mk1 I bought which still oozed bags of charm despite having floors and sills made of cheese. (The deep purple Mk2 'WMU 211G' in some of the photos is mine )

I would like another one.... but have you seen the price, even for the most basic ones!
Yes, some of the prices are bonkers but a good Mk1, whether it's an early one from '59 or a late one from '67 are worth looking at for their sheer charm alone. I've been looking at some recently which are very tempting, last week I was offered first dibs on a '66 Mk1 Cooper project, pretty much a bare shell, a pukka V5C and several boxes of bits but I don't really want another long term restoration project. Mk2s are the ones to go for if you fancy something usable with the right period look with exterior door hinges and sliding windows and a bit more practicality than a Mk1, but they're not exactly easy to find as they only made them for just over two years. The other variants like the vans, estates, Elfs / Hornets etc are still rising in value now that Cooper S prices are going barmey. The same goes for early Clubmans and 1275GTs.
