Classic mini - exceesive fuel consumption?
Discussion
Hmm.. Could be several things.
Could just be a problem with the gauge/sender, as 10 miles to use that much fuel would be quite extreme?
I've had a couple of fuel level senders (in the tank) fail, they don't seem to be very reliable. In both cases they read fine in about the top 1/2 of the gauge, then just stopped reading anything (ie, read "empty") when the level in the tank fell below half.
So first up I'd check your actual MPG by brimming the tank full, driving round until it's reasonably empty, refilling and see how many miles you did and how much fuel you actually used! (Rather than going by the gauge)
