Coil - ballast or not?
Discussion
Look for a pink wire and and a yellow/white wire going to the coil. One has a ballast resisitor but I can never remember which.
Wiring diagram will tell you
Edit to add - only one of there wire's will be connected to the coil, depending on what type of system you have

A bit of advice if I may.
The pink resistor wire can burn out and, with it, take part of the loom down. I had this happen on a Mini 25. The loom from the bulkhead to the front panel then had to be re-wired which was a horrible job. However, I replaced the resistor wire with a standard ignition circuit wire and used a 12V sports coil. No more problems. It's easy to do before it burns out - an absolute b****r after it has.
