Just had a call from the g/f who says our little darling's rear lights have stopped working, along with the back lights on the speedo & rev counter.

The car is an 89 Flame.

I'm at work so don't have the manual in front of me but can anyone tell me if this is likely to be a blown fuse and if so point me in the direction of the right one?

I'd like to be able to buy a spare at lunch time and fit it tonight.

Cheers in advance.

Certainly sounds like a fuse. On an '89 car there should be 4 fuses but sadly I can't remember the ratings. Will have a bit of a scout round.

Yep. Its either the first or second IIRC

Give it a wiggle, if that doesnt work have the fuse box off the bulkhead, give it a clean and put it back.

Alternatively put in a new one, they are only £4.

Whilst you're at it, it's well worth cleaning up the fusebox terminals on both sides with a bit of fine wet 'n' dry (dry, I would recommend ) or an emery board.

Happened to me a couple of weeks ago; was the fuseboz connectors. I cleaned them but you need to get the whole thing off to get at the backs properly, should solve it!

All fixed, a simple 15amp fuse gone. Nothing needed wiggling or cleaning. Apparently someone(?) had left the lights on and the battery had gone flat so a jump start was needed from the university Porter to get her going again. This probably caused the blown fuse.
Cheers for the help, it meant I managed to get the right fuses during lunch and as i'm away for a few days the g/f can enjoy the mini after dark again!!!
