I found this when i overhauled the cooper S 7.5" cailpers.

the new stainless steel piston goes in and out not a problem.

Is there any fix for it?

Is the cailper scrap??!? Or can i use it?

Jay

i guess you could bore it out and fit a stainless sleeve. this would be very expensive.

i'd say that the caliper is scrap - its not worth taking a risk using it.

a case of pay cheap - pay twice :-(

new ap cooper s calipers retail for about 110 quid each inc vat. a far safer option.

Sorry to contradict you, guru, but unlike a rear slave cylinder, the caliper bore has no effect on braking efficiency or hydraulic sealing. Remember, it's the piston which moves, but the seal is static in the caliper and so long as the piston outside diameter is a totally smooth and unpitted surface, and the seal is new, then the bore of the caliper is irrelevant. I would just clean it up with some emory cloth, make sure it is totally clean, fit new stainless steel pistons and fit new seals. It should be 100% then.
