Okay, apologies if I've missed a similar post, but anyway:

Does anyone have any experience of Z-Cars bike engine conversions (esp. the R1 option)? If so, any comments or recommendations?

If you've built one yourself, any pitfalls I haven't thought about? Any issues when dealing with Z-Cars?

All input gratefully accepted!

Cheers,

Tony

check out www.theminiforum.co.uk and have a look in the projects section; at least 3 people seem to be using them!

PH'er Sacha has done the R1 option.

I spoke to them last year about a turbo 'busa version...

They really are a lovely bunch of blokes.

Have exchanged several emails with Chris at Z-Cars - very helpful!

Next step might be a trip up to the factory for a look...

Chris is one of the nicest guy's in the industry I've spoke to. He said he would help me with what ever I needed, even though I was going to build nearly all of the car / frame myself. He wasn't fussed that I basicaly used his main Idea to build a Busa Turbo Mini, he was even quite pleased that another one was being built, even though he would hardly make any money from me.
Went out in the R1 converted White Mini at Donnington last year, good fun....

Good product, nice people, hard to say about some kit car manufactures.
