mk1 look alike

Hi im do a mk1 ish mini out of a 1993 Mayfair do i need to keep the side repeaters in the wings or can i do away with them

Would the MoT man notice they were gone?
In 1989 I built a Caterham. It was supposed to have side repeaters on the edge of the front clam shells (wings).
I never put them on, it passed MoTs fom 1993 to 2002 and probably still would pass now if I still had the car.

Mot not a problem was thinking more the law and police

Dont think either would care, if it looked like an old one. Of course any jobsworth would pull you for it but i doubt anyon ewould say anything
