My old Gran sadly passed away earlier this week, leaving her old Mini in the garage. I'm keen to get rid ASAP as iit never seems to do cars good being left standing. Don't want to let it go for a song though and need to direct the family on an appropriate sale price.

Interested in what the Mini lot would pay. Can't be sold just yet so please, no preemptive PMs wink

1992/K automatic Mini Sprite 1300
About 29,000 miles
White with red upholstery
2 owners, both local, both elderly.

Lots of paperwork including original invoice smile
Annoyingly it looks like the MoT ran out in November.

From memory it's in reasonable nick with a bit of rust on the outside, inside is virtually new. It did have a comprehensive bodywork job in '08...

Thanks in advance

Honestly? Photos required - especially of the remedial work. A 1300 Auto on carb isn't the most desirable model so a value will reflect such.

If the invoiced work has been done to a really good standard then 3K for the car isn't unreasonable.

All the later cars are really prone to corrosion, so people tend to buy on (body) condition.

OP, sorry to hear about your Gran. If you go on The Mini Forum, there's a section where you can ask this very question. Probably worth posting on there. Good luck, Steve

Thanks all, fits roughly with what I am thinking. Bodywork a bit rough but have a local buyer very interested for his son... £3k was the target price.

You'll be lucky to see 2K for that. Rust on the exterior seams. A new one even on me and I've seen, stripped and rebuilt late Minis. Suspect that is a basket case underneath, heelboard and sills likely shot.

Restoring it would only make sense as a labour of love. You won't get a return on the investment in this one.

Now also on eBay and the bargain hunters are out with tall tales and lowball offers for cash, Bruv.

I can't put my mother through that! Someone nice who wants to restore it, feel free to PM me!
