Found a gearbox 22g1128 think from 1275gt if so its 4 synchro (Ithink). I would like to mate to A+ 1275 if possible (I have the remote and rear mounting etc).
question was this gearbox ever used with a A+ engine? (I dont think so) if that is right I guess I will have to change the primary and idler gears to pre A+ can anyone see any problems with that? advice and tips needed. thanks

it was never used by the factory with an a plus, but all you have to do is use the a series drops and primary with it and it will all match up ok

you will have to use an old end case as well, or fit a idler gear bearing converter to an a plus one if that's all you have

Thanks very much for your advice, just too make sure I have got this right. I can use the 29 tooth primary (A+) with the A+ idler if I change the bearing in the gearbox casing and the A+ idler will mesh with the old A series 1st motion gear. Sorry to be a pain about this but have very limited mech. knowledge, fine on bodywork though. Will send pictures on the Mk. I when finished and some before ones as well. thanks again.
