Fitting a new Headliner
Discussion
This job has now overtaken the fitting of brake/clutch clevis pins as my least favourite job to do on a mini
Stretched it out and clipped in place now, but how do you get the puckers and wrinkles out before bonding it in? I'm concerned anymore tension in the PU will tear it or worse still, not be contained with the screen rubbers on reassembly and pull out.
PS - The next one will have spray flocked headliner.

Dependent on the sort of headlining you have but you need to get the edges straight. Don't worry about it being a bit baggy in the middle. Once you have the edges straight you heat the headlining with a hair dryer of coolish hot air gun (if the hair dryer doesn't work). Most head linings shrink with heat but some of the BL ones (Metro iirc) used to go even baggier then shrink as it cooled.
Hope this helps
