Sons insurance advice needed !
Discussion
Hi there a qwick question maybe somebody out there might be able to help...
My 19 year old son has a 1972 Clubman ( his 1st car at 17) which he loves but had a bit of a misshap in when the drum brakes decided not to work so well a few months back and only a small knock to front wing but had to report it just in case the guy in the van in front changed his mind and decided to make a claim ... was only a scratch..
Prob is Footman James wont reinusure him when his policy runs out in October.. So does anybody know of Classic or normal insurance company if your 19 and had a prang and want to drive a classic Mini?
I know if he gets a newer car then yep no probs... but i think Footman James are the only company that i know off that will insure young drivers with an intrest in Classic cars
Thanx

I tried for classic car policy's when I was young and had no luck until I was 25 to be honest with you. If your really struggling then, it won't be as cheap as a classic policy, but you could go the route of one of these black box recorders. I never had one but my girlfriend did a few years ago and they offered it at pretty much half the price if she had one. Obviously if she drove like a loon though they would have increased the premium substantially.
As it was, they decided that she had driven like Miss Daisy and to my surprise gave her £300 back at the end of the year and a bigger discount on the renewal so it isn't all one way.
