i am buying a lovely retro look 1985 mini that has had a 1293cc engine fitted. Physically it all looks like a mk1 now (bar the later doors)

Some of the "specialist" insurers I have spoken to seem clueless about what must be a very common set of mods. One of them got a bit twicthy that it had cooper s badging!

Has anyone met with sensible people on the phone? Even lancaster wanted to know what year car the engine came from. A bizarre question given its an overbored recon engine that could have come from a huge range of dates!

cheers

Haggerty seem quite good, easy to deal with, much cheaper than Adrian Flux and they include breakdown cover.
