Camshaft locking up

Afternoon,
Got the front plate on this afternoon but when I put the triangle locking plate on over the end of the cam and tightened it up, it was causing the cam to lock, then when slackened off again the cam was free, any ideas what it can do? Thanks.

Have you replaced the oil pump ?

I had this happen - it turned out that the new pump had a wrongly machined part where it connectes to the cam shaft.

A bit a grinding fixed it.

It has had a new oil pump on, I'll check, thanks

Your meant to replace that plate when changing the cam.
