Just got a re-con radius arm and the pin for mounting the handbrake quadrant is missing. Just an empty hole. Sadly my original quadrant went with my exchange arm.

I Know that the quadrant can be bought but what about the mounting / pivot pin?

As I have no access to fabrication equipment I would appreciate any advice.

Call Somerford on 01249 721421 - he has a huge range of obsolete / rare parts and also a yard full of scrappers he could probably take parts off.

Cheers. Will give them a shout.

How are the actual pin / pivot held in the frame?
Is it just a case of hitting it with a large hammer untill it fits or is there a "proper way" of doing it?

Can't help you with that, other than to say that I have sucessfully fitted pretty much every part on my Mini using the large hammer method

I'm not sure there is an alternative method for most mini parts

Let the beating begin!!!!

Currently using a Draper with a rubber grip and Mini bashing miles only.

Any particular choice of hammer? Or just swing hard and miss the thumb?

Replace the pins with stainless bolts from SAC,never seize again.See www.sac.uk.com for details, also KAD quadrants are little more than standard ones no more rust there either.
