Bit of a silly question, if I could find one and check I would, but would I be able to fit in/comfortably drive a classic Mini? 6ft2/100kg/broad frame.

Currently looking at at the prospect of a classic first car, has to be pre-1985.

you will fit, and you can move the seat back, get thinner seats which go even further back (the ones in mine touch the rear seat!)

you just need to be able to spend a bit of time sorting the seat and the angle of the wheel out!

One of my good friends is bigger in both directions than you, and he's not only had many minis, but has raced and won in metros too.

I'm 6ft 4 with footwear. My mini has cobra buckets and I reckon I've got 3-4 inches of headroom.

Dont worry you will fit, the point of the mini is its small on the outside and big on the inside. The seams on the outside and making every little bit of space is used. I am 6ft 1" and fit just fine with plenty of spare space, my car has totally original MPI seats.

Just to add I am 6' and used to share a mini with my farther 6'4. He had to go first for quick change overs but all worked very well. He now runs an almost standard mini and has been on long over the water toures in it and been ok.

I'm currently running a 1979 Mini 1275 GT on a classic policy as my first and only car with admiral. I'm 21.

I'm 18 now however got my mini when 17 as my first car. Mine is a 97 Cooper Sport MPI. It's great Fun, and makes a refreshing Chainge from all the normal dull corsas people have as a first car. As for insurance I'm with Adrian flux. They said for me they won't give me classic insurance due to my age, so I'm on a standard policy with a 10000 mile a year limit and would have cost me nearly £5000 per year for fully comp, so I went 3rd party at £2700 instead. However these were by far the cheapest prices for my car. For other minis it would be much cheaper, however as it's a cooper sport the price was rather high.
