Clutch pedal stuck
Discussion
So not driven the car for about 5 weeks, just started her up and the clutch pedal was stuck, about an inch of travel then solid. Ran the engine for about 10 minutes but no joy. It's happened before coming off the motorway in the rain so guess something may have seized/be interfering?
Any ideas?
Thanks as always

Check that the clutch plunger nuts haven't come loose,or got anything stuck in them (I have had both happen before)If not, then it sounds like you have a build up of grot possibly in the clutch operating arm/plunger,usually a good soak with WD40 or similar and gentle coaxing will bring it back to life. The other option is a seized slave cylinder.
What year/type of clutch does the car have?

I'm not sure what type of clutch it has but it's a 998cc 1988 Mini Mayfair.
When it's happened before it's fixed itself (I say that, but obviously that's not the case!) When I've tried it the next day...I take it, as with lots of things on a mini, that it's going to be difficult to get to - unfortunately I have to park it in the street so it's tricky to get under there!!

If it's a standard motor car then it's a "Verto" type clutch.... Give the plunger (2 Large Nuts on the end of the Clutch housing a good soak in WD40 then again after approx 30 mins or so and apply even but gentle pedal pressure, ideally with help from an assistant so that you can watch what's going on from under the bonnet,if needs be a little reverse pressure often helps the plunger/cylinder back to correct position
When this happened to me, some time ago, it was caused by degradation of the inside of the rubber pipe that connects to the slave cylinder! Small pieces of rubber had become "detached" inside the pipe and were blocking the hole into the slave cylinder, just like a heart attack! A new pipe cured the problem.
