Classic Mini Dash Switch Wiring
Discussion
Looking for some help on my project wiring if poss.
On the dash mounted switch on a Mini there are three terminals, could anybody enlighten me as to the connection for these please? I'm assuming top one is 12v in, middle is 12v out for sidelight & bottom is 12v out for dip beam?
Also, on the hazard switch there are six terminals grouped four at the top & two at the bottom, I have no idea as to which ones take the 12v in & which ones are 12v out, I'm guessing bottom two are in & top four are out?

on the light switch the colours are
brown - unfused live
red - side lights
blue - goes to main / dip switch
the very outer (top) one is blue, middle is red, lower is brown, with two unused ports below that in the white plug
on the hazard switch, the bank of four terminal control the hazards, the two separate ones is simply the interrupt for the indicator circuit, so when the hazards are off the indicators will work, if the hazard switch is pressed, it breaks the power to the indicators.
if it helps any more, the two lower ones are the same wire colours (as they are the same circuit) light green with brown trace
then the top four, if you where looking at the plug with the wires pointing out the back are
top left
light green - fused ignition on power in
top right
green white - rh side indicators
bottom left
green red - lh side indicators
bottom right
green / light green
power feed to side of switch ro make warning light work
they are actually far simpler than you think!
