Does anyone know where I can find an electrical circuit diagram for a 1990 Cooper. It seems as though the Haynes Manual does not include this model, the last of the carb versions, but this seems to be an omission as this model has 12V coil, no ballast resist wire from ign sw to coil +ve, an electronic Lucas dizzy with 2 wires to it (excluding the HT leads) and there is no procedure for setting the initial timing - it seems you use a bit of guesswork.
In all my Mini efforts I've never set one of these up and I want to install my new custom non-vac Aldon dizzy and start the engine asap.
The 2 wires into the dizzy are Black/White, which I am assuming is the wire to coil -ve, and a white wire which may be a 12v input direct from ign sw or coil +ve (which is, effectively, the same thing), or could it be a tacho input wire?
Advice will be much appreciated.
I hate b****y electrics.

This:

claims to be a wiring diagram for an MG Metro dizzy conversion. Might be useful?

Sorry I couldnt resist!
Thanks for asking Peter. Things arent to bad at the moment apart from the mini which has got the hump with me (I think its jealous) because if I dont drive it for a couple of days it decides to drain the battery to get me back.
Dont understand this because it means I drive it even less!
Oh and some bugger decided to right a nice message on my bonnet with a screwdriver.
Ive now ordered a security system which runs from the PC. My screen saver will soon be my cars outside.
Ooooooo i hope they do it again!

Silly question but how is the black mini going in general?

That is exactly what I need, many thanks.
It's exactly as I thought. I'm going home to wire it all in now.

All the best,

Peter
