Tail light question
Discussion
Hi Mini peeps - have my girlfriend's Mini Sprite with a tail light out (left side). Brake light works, has a new bulb in it. Can anyone direct me to a fuse I should be checking? Apologies for such a simplistic question, these old cars don't have a nice big obvious fuse box with everything labeled (unless I am missing a trick).
The tail lamps should be fused together through the fuse between fuse box terminals 7 and 8 (bottom fuse of the four, the fuse box is located near the master cylinders on the bulk head and may be covered by engine bay sound proofing?)
The best place to start is the connections to the lamp, the bullet connectors in the wiring are fairly susceptible to corrosion. I think it should be the yellow wire out the back of the lamp unit?

Thanks for the reply - I was lead to believe that the left tail light was fused with the number plate bulbs but not the right tail light? Both number plate bulbs are also not working. That's why I was going to check the fuses first, can't get to the connectors without removing fuel tank which I would rather leave as a last resort The best place to start is the connections to the lamp, the bullet connectors in the wiring are fairly susceptible to corrosion. LH tail lamps are fused through the bottom fuse in the fuse box (15A glass fuse) along with panel lights and dim/dip relay.
RH tail lamps and instrument pack illumination is through a 15A Inline fuse with Red/white wire (should be located in the engine bay behind the air filter under the scuttle).
I think, now that I'm looking at the owners manual properly, it doesn't make that much sense. I'll check in haynes too.
Owners manual doesn't seem to mention number plate lights, unless that's what the panel lights are.

Nice one, will replace this tomorrow and let you know the results,RH tail lamps and instrument pack illumination is through a 15A Inline fuse with Red/white wire (should be located in the engine bay behind the air filter under the scuttle).
