Mini Cutting out

This is for a friend who has a Mini Mayfair 1996.

When she accelerates and comes back down in speed or for braking the car stalls any obvious things I could check for her. Car has done 25,000 miles only.

Air Leaks,blocked Air Filter,Sticking Throttle Butterfly,Remove Dizzy cap and check condition of both car and rotor (any burning/cracking renew as a matter of course)Check that the Multi relay (mounted on top of the servo mounting has no cracks in the casing/damp in the wiring plug) after that get the thing scanned to determine if there are any faults logged before wasting money throwing bits at it.
