15 years since I last restored something so fancy doing a classic mini, always liked the look of the 1275, if you were going to embark on a resto what mini would you choose ( not cooper s) and why?

Will do all the work myself barring the paint.

How about an Innocenti Cooper 1300 Export, that's if you can find a resto project.

1275 GT is a good choice, that would be close to the top of my list if I was restoring a Mini. Or you could go for something a bit later and do what you like to it.

Cooperman sounds like a plan, going to try and find either a 1275 gt or your suggestion, see what comes up

I would definitely recommend a 1275 GT for a project, as you could probably tell from my user name! They're getting quite desirable these days though, and parts are sky-rocketing in price.
So if you do go looking try to find one with as much original stuff as possible!

Get a later model that isn't a special edition or significant model (Cooper LE) etc and have some fun with a resto project. Slavishly restoring to period spec (including 1275 GT's) is becoming a very expensive business, especialy sourcing 100% correct parts that are required to ensure the high valuations mentioned above.
