Hi guys. I'm newish to the mini scene. After selling my TVR I decided to buy another bit of British engineering (getting therapy as we speak!). My wee mini is almost ready for the road and I just trimmed the dash in leather look black vinyl because I hate wood in a car. Here's a couple of picks to show my efforts. I will post a few before and after pics of the car when I find a few descent snaps.

Looks really good. Have you got pics of how you wrapped it round the inside of the gauges?

I warmed up the vinyl after I cut lines 15mm from edge of the hole to the middle of the vinyl then covered it in spray glue then waited for 5 minutes then pulled the vinyl through and there is a small lip that you can then staple the vinyl to the back of the dash to help keep it in place. Then just trim of any excess with a blade. I didn't take a picture bit will post a picture tomorrow. Only problem that I came across was making the glovebox lid small because of the vinyls thickness means the lid doesn't fit.
Thanks for the comments.

I'm close to doing this also and had thought about the glovebox door. I think taking it off and sanding a mm or so off the edge would create the gap needed.

It's a nice job. IMHO would look better with white dials. Think I have a set in the garage if you fancy them.

Here's a picture of the rear of the holes for the clocks.

I trimmed 2/3mm off of the glovebox lid and trimmed and refitted it. Just waiting on my speakers to be delivered that are going to be fitted in the fresh air vent holes and I can get it fitted in the car.

looks well put together. When i thought about doing this i had visions of folded material as it wraps into the holes. That looks like a really neat fit though.

I was going to fit white dials but I like the black as most of the interior will be dark. Thanks for the offer.

I just received my green lights lenses for the indicators that sit just above the clocks so will be fitting them later. Speakers are waiting at the post office. Really hate missing parcels.

Nearly at the fitting stage. Most of my interior is back in. Just need another early finish from work to get down to my lockup (no power) in daylight and get it fitted.
