Iv heard you can change a automatic engine into a manual. How do you do it?

You need a manual engine/gearbox for starters, as well as a clutch pedal and remote box.

You can use the existing subframe, but you need to buy the converted engine mounts from mini spares.

There probably are a few other bits that you need as well

I have not done the work my self but in genral. If you have an auto mini you love its worth the work. If you are getting an auto becuse its a bit less than a manual then the cost and work are normly not worth it. Or if the engine needs changing any way it is not a lot more work to swope the other parts as well. But as above there is two much to do to take a auto box and engine and make it a manual box with the same engine.

Ive done as few over years including my current 1000 city bought with a slipping auto box when warm.
Change the front subframe to one from a manual car. Buy the engine box and frome subframe from the doner as one lot.
As an aside - not sure if its true, but I was told that the auto frame is preferred by the turbo enthusiasts because it sits the engine a little further forward.
