Hi all - wondering what the 'best' option for a Mk1 exhaust header is - I have a 1340cc motor in my '65 Mk1 'S' and need to get a new one. I had a LCB header on it (can't remember now where I bought it) but it hit was hitting the drive flange so I had to remove it. Seems like some of the collectors are up on the vertical part of the pipe - maybe that would be better than having it after the turn?

Anyone have a version that they know doesn't hit?

Thanks!

Maniflow make a version that is tweaked to clear the drive couplings on early cars.

I've always found them really helpful if you have any queries.

Cheap "solution" is to alter the pipe with some hammering at the areas.

Nowhere a pro idea, but cheap and works.

This spring I changed the Maniflow LCB for a new one on my S engined 67
I did it with the engine out and on the bench. With a bit of bending and carefull adjustment with a hammer, I acheived a good 5mm clearance. It works well. I would be tricky to do with the engine in situe though.
