After years and years of wanting one (but not being able to justify it as I had a perfectly servicable beige Polo (22 years old!) which has now been consigned to the scrapyard in the sky), I have finally bought a mini!!

Its a red 1991 Mini Cooper and I'm getting it on Friday. So if you see me zooming round, wave hello!

Welcome to our little Mini fraternity.
Hope you enjoy your new acquisition.
If you wnat any advice, just post on here and we'll try to help with tips, sources of parts, suggestions and repair procedures.
The 1991 car is possibly the best to get, especially if it's a carb model (is it?). They are easy to work on and the performance is better than the early Spi cars.

I still have a 90 Cooper with carbs - they are lovely little beasts - but mine is about to go up for sale. I've had him since I was 17 and enjoyed it greatly

Hi Littlered and welcome to the madness of mini ownership !!

IMHO the carb'd Coopers are the best of the last minis, and that's not just because mines a 1990 !!

And thats a a big welcome from me too!
Even if mine is old and spread over a large area at present.
Now I'd better get back in that garage or it'll never be finished.....

I,m an RSP fan myself , but then they are one of the last carbed minis to .

The twin 1 1/4" SU Cooper 'S' conversion on ours makes them a very lively little motor

Thank you all for making me so welcome...I spent the whole weekend zooming around.

I can't believe what fun it is to drive although I must admit HGV's gave me a fright.

I've already been given a list of things that need attention so my mechanical skills are about to improve hugely!

And this is my new mini...

jen's mini is a Cooper 'S' with the Full John Cooper conversion, twin 1 1/4" SU's, no cat RC40 etc.

The other half - and bloody great fun - even after a Chim 500.

Twin SU's make a glorious induction noise.
