Hi all,

Any advice people can give on fitting a Mini Dashboard? My quarrel is I have a 3 clock charcoal dash but it's missing the chrome bevel rings around all the apertures, and they're (approx, unless people know better) £15 each, whereas a burr walnut chrome ring 3 clock dash is £101 anyway (from minisport)....also, my glovebox is B to the Uggered, so figure it might be just worth replacing the lot.....plus, I want a woodrim motolita, so it all fits...is it htat difficult for an OK educated, product design trained, fairly practical, but new to minis fella like myself? I realise this a ridiculous question but seriously, any advice welcome and much appreciated!!

First up is the speedo cable, it has a plastic "thingie" you need to press, in order to disconnect it.

Next the wireplug, on the back of your instruments, you want to be carefull, with that, as these have a plastic circiut board, that brakes easely.

Third, you will find 4 metal brackets, holding the facia, these are held on, by wing nuts.

On some cars, the airvents, have a plastic rim, you need to unscrew.

If you take care, and dont rush things, its not very complicated.

Somerford Minis sell the chrome rings for the dash for £4.20 each, they are for a dash with perfectly round holes unlike mine which is a standard 1995 Cooper and the holes for the dials are actually ever so slightly oval although its not immediately obvious so the rings wouldn't fit.

I'd offer the ones I bought to you but I am unable to locate them as I've moved a couple of times frown
