im fitting a k series (watson kit) to my clubman. i dont have an engine hoist and dont fancy hiring one as il need it for a long period of time (only get time to work on it the odd day here and there).
the engine is mounted in the subframe and sat on a pallet and would prefer to fit it in one lump.

is there anyway of fitting it without an engine hoist/lift?

cheers

It is posible to lift the body over the subframe with two big people. I have lifted a mini body befor but not to fit an engine.

Plus, when fitting a non-standard subframe to a Mini you'll likely find aligning it somewhat more difficult.

in 2006 I fitted a C16SE to my Clubman....it was a tight old fit dropping it in from above but I wouldn't have wanted to contemplate dropping the shell onto the frame.

Engine crane/hoist is definitely the way to go!

yeah i bought one off ebay like that but had the engine levler with it. but yeah the plan was to sell for around 100 and would still work out cheaper than hiring.
