Help with slicks
Discussion
Hi guys,
I'm currently at the stage of wheel and tyre buying from my sprint and hillclimb 16v. I've decided to go with 8x13 wheels but i'm getting conflicting advice from tyre dealers and a few other people i have asked. I've pretty much decided on Avons too, its just the width and diameter combination that i'm struggling with.
Options are:
7.5/19.5-13,
8.0/19.5-13,
7.5/20.0-13,
8.2/20.0-13
I know there are a few racers on here, so if there is anyone with experience of 13's, any help would be greatly appreciated before i splash a significant amount of cash on the wrong tyres!!
Cheers,
Nick

Not wanting to throw a spanner in the works but just curious as to why you've gone with 13" wheels? If you stuck with 10's you could use Miglia slicks (we used uncut wets which are the softest compound) with the benefit that the smaller diameter tyre heats up quicker and, argueably, handles better?

i think with minis, you are either a 10's man or a 13's man and i've read many a convincing argument for both.. My choice is made for me by the KAD 4 pots up front, but even if 10's would fit, i think i'd still go with 13's anyway..!Gassing Station | Classic Minis | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
