Minispares Evolution Camshaft
Discussion
Sounds good to me. A 270 degree cam should be quite smooth. Whats the max lift, as that always seems to be the important figure with an A-series engine? For example, an MG Metro cam has 0.318" lift with standard rockers and a Megadyne 266 has 0.320"/0.330".
Mini Spares stuff is usually first class and it's where I buy all the bits for my rally cars.
Their counter staff are usually very clued-up and Keith Dodd, the main man, is happy to talk to his customers. He's a really nice guy as well.

I'll be keen to here any reports on this cam. I am rebuilding a more-or-less standard MG metro unit and if the cam is U/S then I'll be looking for alternatives. As this is supposed to be a low-cost rebuild I don't want to spend nearly £70 on one of Swifties SW5's, so if the MiniSpares cam is any good then I'll give it a go.
I thought you were all ignoring me, I was beginning to think I had made a mistake...
I'll let you know how it goes if you like but the speed of this rebuild, your likely to have worn out your next cam before I get a result for you...
I can now straighten up, have constant pins & needles in my leg and daresn't turn quickly...Bloody Volvo/gardening/carpet cleaner etc.
Minispares tell me this cam is the best there is, for power/torque whilst still being drivable without lumpiness etc.
Will keep you informed

I have a spare MG Metro cam. I think it cost me £15 so you're welcome to it for £15 plus a few quid for postage.
