I have just started on what was intended to be a light restoration of my wifes 1972 Clubman saloon.Unsurprisingly the rot appears to be far more extensive than originaly thought!

However, I'm having some doubts about the originality of the shell, Does anyone know offhand when dual circiut brakes and rod change gear boxes started in production?

if its a 72 it should have a remote change floor, inspection hatch in the rear seat up right, drip rails, four bolt front frame etc etc

rod boxes / rod change floors came in mid 1973, and dual circuit brakes didnt appear until 76 when so much stuff was changed.

Thank you for the fast response, That confirms my suspicions, obviously the car has been treated to a reshell at some point, along with a couple of colour changes. I'm not sure how much of the original now remains, as it has also had an MG metro engine and metro turbo brakes. The boot lid and back seat look period!
