The A series is a very understressed engine.
Whatever you do work out why the gasket blew.
It is most unusual on a Mini Engine. Is there a Rad fault? Are the hoses holding? Fan tip top? Is there an underlying engine fault like a cracked head?
Something blew the gasket, the A series were renowned as robust engines.
As others have said the Payen BK450 is probably your best bet.
But I would be looking for a reason for this fault.
The A series was not like modern twin cam alloy engines.
A blown head gasket suggests a fault elsewhere. Find it first, Good Luck.

payen bk450 is all i would use now
the bk450 is a large bore head, so no use on the normal small bore 998.......for the small bore your best options are either the gen rover/payen copper one, or the more expensive black competition one.
even the black one is intolorant of poor surfaces etc
thanks for advice but head gasket hasnt gone , we are just changing the head over to a 295 built buy slark . cheers anyway.
