Preventing driveline shunt - Mini 1000
Discussion
Sorry for yet another thread, feel like I'm cluttering this place up!
I picked up my son's 1977 Mini 1000 today and I have noticed that when lifting off, the car lurches forward quite a bit. I have found that it has a stabiliser bar fitted, but is there anything else I can do to prevent/reduce it? I know that it is a characteristic of the engine, just wondering if I can do something to reduce the lurching when lifting off.
I appreciate any replies.
Thanks

That one is for a 1275 but I've found one for a 998cc, thanks First thing to do is to put new bushes in the top engine stabiliser next to the fluid resorvoirs. The bushes dont last forever and only a few quid. Then if needed you can add a second one, either off the thermostat housing near the radiator or a gearbox to subframe one. Places like minispares sell them, but you might be pleasantly surprised by just renewing those old bushes.
