Sorting out some parts this evening I found I have 2 different outer cv joints, one with a single split pin hole and one with 2 split pin holes.

Reading this
http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&p...

there are different torque settings for the different CV joints. Should I replace one so I have a matched pair, torque them both the same regardless (150 or 193?), or torque each joint to its correct setting per the link?

Would I be correct in thinking it's more important to have the joint correctly torqued and having different torque settings each side would make no difference?

Thanks

I have used both types - single and paired holes, in racing conditions and 'mismatched' across the driveline. From my experience it makes no difference although it is important to ensure they are torqued (and then a bit) to their respective settings.

Aren't the single hole CV's for disc brakes and the double ones for drum brakes?

you can get single and double hole ones for the disc type, the shaft size and nut on the end is bigger than the drum sort, so its impossible to mix them up
