Hi, Thought i would share the latest modification.

I spent Sunday replacing the Rubber Cone with Springs, the kits are available from many local suppliers. The difference in ride quality is amazing. I really did not even think the difference would be as drastic as it is.

Installation was straight forward. Upper front arms need to be removed to allow removal of cones. Unless you have HILO's the Rear Shock needs to be released at the top.

One issue people have with springs is that you need to adjust the suspension to near stock height to keep the springs dislodging at full droop. On ours the height when properly adjusted worked out to 11.5 inches from wheel well trim to wheel center or about 1.5 inches lower than stock. You will need HILO's as well if you do not have them already. I may try a slightly lower look with maybe a check/limit strap to decrease the droop.

My Mini is a G with a fast road 998 we finished rebuilding from the ground up about 4 years ago. When we first put it together we put Moulton Smooth ride cones in. which were better than standard but not great. Car is a road car with no track work yet.

there is an easy mod you can do to the rear to stop the springs falling out - its been covered on here before

also - fit a rear arb - you will be amazed at how well the car will handle with one and the springs
